In honor of Reading Across America, Mayor Pam Hemminger reads "Libba," the story of Elizabeth Cotten. Among other things, Elizabeth taught herself to play the guitar upside down and backwards because she was left handed and didn't have access to a left-handed guitar.
"I loved reading 'Libba" by Laura Veirs out loud for Read Across America Day. It's a beautiful story about Chapel Hill-Carrboro musician Elizabeth Cotton who played the guitar 'upside down and backwards." - Mayor Pam Hemminger
